Trade stand was no pipedream for town agency

A MID Devon marketing firm recently met one of its biggest challenges by displaying the world's largest pipe at a trade exhibition.

Cullompton-based SW1 represented the product on behalf of international infrastructure group Hill & Smith Holdings Plc at the IWEX 2009 in May.

As well as marketing the pipe at the Birmingham NEC event — the largest for waste water professionals — they were also tasked with exhibiting a road safety barrier at a traffic management fair in March.

But SW1, based at Kingsmill Industrial Estate, have only had since the beginning of the year to plan for the events.

David Hodson-Whittle, operations manager for SW1, said: "We are not as big as some marketing agencies, which goes to show it's efficiency rather than size that matters when it comes to delivering results for clients.

"We have a passion for designing and building exhibition stands that effectively display clients' products. Having met this challenging brief, we now know nothing's impossible."

Tiverton-based printer Maslands, based at Howden Industrial Estate, produced the exhibition literature.

Expo Challenge

- Western Morning News

A Mid-Devon marketing agency met a last minute challenge from a major international client.
Cullompton-based marketing agency SW1 was commissioned by Hill & Smith Holdings Plc. to plan an exhibition stand for it at the beginning of the year.  The rail, road, utility and security markets manufacturer later booked stands at three additional major exhibitions, leaving SW1 to successfully orchestrate the four stands, promotional literature and advertising in just three months.  Operations manager David Hodson-Whittle said: “this has probably been the biggest challenge we’ve ever been presented with.  Our team is not as large as most marketing agencies, which goes to show it is efficiency rather than size that matters when it comes to delivering results for clients.”

Big success for marketing team

A MID Devon marketing agency has been helping international infrastructure group Hill & Smith Holdings promote its products at a series of trade shows.

Cullompton's SW1 Ltd was initially planning one exhibition stand for the multinational manufacturer for the global rail, road, utility and security markets, but was asked to do three more.

SW1 designed, built and then dismantled the stands over a three-month period, as well as producing promotional literature and advertising.

"This has probably been the biggest challenge we've been presented with," said SW1's David Hodson-Whittle. "Our team is not as large as most marketing agencies, which goes to show it's efficiency rather than size that matters."
