SW1 charity for 2010 - Kidney Research UK

From Easter 2010 SW1 Ltd's chosen charity is Kidney Research UK. Kidney Research UK
Kidney disease is close to SW1’s thoughts as various members of the team have been affected by it.  Kidney Research UK funds life-saving research into kidney disease, to improve the quality of life of those with kidney disorders and to increase public awareness of kidney health.

Kidney diseases can affect people of any age, there are currently believed to be over 37,800 adult patients receiving Renal Replacement Therapy (RRT) in the UK.

Of the 7,672 people on the national organ waiting list, 6,909 of them need a kidney, however, in contrast, only about 1,800 kidney transplants are carried out each year.  There are over 6,500 new cases of kidney cancer diagnosed each year and this figure seems to be rising. The aim of the charity is to have a world free from
kidney disease.

The disease causes around 3,600 deaths each year that is why SW1 are committed to raising as much money as possible through various events.

Please help us raise as much as possible by supporting us on  http://www.kidneyresearchukevents.org/SW1ltd.
